Technologies
DuoCap™
This involves the specialist liquid-filling techniques
using custom-designed filling equipment that allows
the insertion of a pre-filled, smaller capsule
into a larger, liquid-filled capsule. The smaller,
inner capsule may contain either a liquid or semi-solid
formulation and, according to the formulation
or product requirements, either or both capsules
may be of gelatin or HPMC composition and can
be coated, if necessary. DuoCap™ has been successfully
commercialised by Encap and is suited for both
pharmaceutical and nutraceutical use.
LayerCap™
This technology was designed and developed by
Encap to generate a multiphase release profile
from a single capsule and takes advantage of the
flexibility of liquid-fill technology.
Abusolve™
Abusolve™ is a suite of formulation approaches
which combine to minimise the risk of a potential
abuser’s tampering with the dosage unit,
directly injecting the product, powdering a mass,
chemically extracting the active or attempting
covert administration to an another individual.
