In addition we can offer a range of proprietary technologies and know-how which can be used for new product concepts or to extend the life cycle of existing brands.

We are able to offer a range of novel encapsulation technologies. DuoCap^TM and LayerCap^TM for controlled release combination products or Abusolve^TM for controlled drug products are three examples, created by our experienced team.

DuoCap^TM

This is the only patent approved dual capsule system available to the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industry.  DuoCap involves specialist liquid-filling techniques using custom-designed filling equipment that allows the insertion of a pre-filled, smaller capsule into a larger, liquid-filled capsule. The smaller, inner capsule may contain either a liquid or semi-solid formulation and, according to the formulation or product requirements, either or both capsules may be of gelatin or HPMC composition and can be coated, if necessary. DuoCap^TM has been successfully commercialised by Encap and is suited for both pharmaceutical and nutraceutical use.

LayerCap^TM

This technology was designed and developed by Encap to generate a multiphase release profile from a single capsule and takes advantage of the flexibility of liquid-fill technology.

Abusolve^TM

Abusolve^TM is a suite of formulation approaches used for controlled drugs products, which combine to minimize the risk of a potential abuser's tampering with the dosage unit. This may be by directly injecting the product, powdering a mass, chemically extracting the active or attempting covert administration to an another individual.
